FAQS

Why Portugal?

We’ve been to the Algarve five times in the past six years, and every trip has made us fall more in love with it. The sunshine, the beaches, the food and of course, the odd cheeky Super Bock or sangria completely won us over. Lagos has our hearts, and we can’t wait to share it with you!

The nearest airport is Faro (FAO), about 1 hour from Lagos. There are roughly five direct flights a day from Dublin to Faro

The easiest way is to grab an Uber or book a private transfer from Faro Airport straight to Lagos. The journey takes about 1 hour door-to-door.

We’ll be at The Editory by the Sea Lagos (hotel rooms) or The Editory Residence Lagos (1–3 bedroom apartments, perfect for groups). We’ll share a discount code soon.

If these don’t fit your needs, Lagos has lots of lovely hotels and Airbnbs nearby, feel free to choose what works best for you.

We’re getting married on Tuesday, 29th September 2026 at Monte das Oliveiras in Guia, Algarve. We’ll all be based in Lagos, and most of the celebrations will be around town.

We’ll have a bus to take everyone from Lagos to Monte das Oliveiras for the ceremony and back again after the party. If you miss the bus or want to leave the venue earlier, Uber is a really good option for this and is readily available and cheap in Portugal.

Expect warm sunny days (around 24–28°C) and cooler evenings. Pack your beachwear for the daytime and a light cardigan or jumper for the evening.

We love your little ones, but this will be an adults-only celebration. We really want everyone to relax, enjoy themselves, and dance the night away without a worry. Think of it as a mini-holiday, time to sip sangria, let your hair down, and celebrate with us!

Monte das Oliveiras offers full vegetarian and vegan menus, and they can adapt for gluten-free, dairy-free, nut allergies and other needs too. You can let us know when you RSVP.

We’d love to have everyone bring a guest, but we’re limited on numbers at the venue. If your invitation includes a plus one, then of course they’re welcome. If not, we hope you understand, we can’t wait to celebrate with you on the day!

Think summer chic, light, stylish, and comfortable. The ceremony is in a garden, so block heels or smart sandals work best on the grass. One small ask: please don’t wear shorts for the ceremony.
